If you have been given a conditional offer of fixed
penalty: This page presents to you all the information you are entitled
to see or we have released at this point in the prosecution process. You
should now decide to either take up the offer of the fixed penalty or, if
you wish to contest/dispute the notice, you may request a court hearing as
offered in the document you have received. You have 28 days from the date
of the notice in which to decide. Failure to do either will result in the
matter being passed for further process by way of a
summons.
If you have received either an offer of fixed penalty or notice of
intended prosecution only: As the keeper of the vehicle you may not
have been the driver at the time of the alleged offence. Under Section 172
of the Road Traffic Act 1988 you are required to supply driver details
when an alleged offence has been committed. Failure to do this will result
in a prosecution for the offence of failing to supply driver
details.
Please read this document before contacting us. If
you write with any of the topics included on this page, we will not
reply.
