Accessibility

Introduction

Cumbria Safety Cameras is committed to providing information in a wide variety of formats. This site provides two forms of menu navigation, support for browser customisation by following WAI (web accessibility initiative) guidelines, an alternative style sheet/website view for easier viewing (e.g. for partially sighted people) and access to the site via WAP phones. The site fully separates information from layout and does not use fixed sized fonts, both of which allow full browser customisation.

Navigation

As well as the standard side-menu the Cumbria Safety Cameras website provides an alternative menu navigation that can be picked up by compatible browsers, e.g. Opera, Firefox (with an extension installed). This menu is generated via the meta 'link relative' system.

Alternative View

  • To use the high-contrast, larger font, variation of the site, click here. This option requires cookies to be enabled on your browser.
  • To revert back to the normal view, either delete the cookie for this site or click here

NOTE: You may have to refresh the pages and/or clear your browser cache for all changes to be made as sometimes a browser will store the style sheet in memory instead of reloading it every time.

Accessibility

Cumbria Safety Cameras strive to make the web content accessible to people with disabilities.
This site has been validated again WAI. Note, you will have to change to the 'Alternate View' as detailed above in order for all areas to pass. This is due to the scripting used in the normal menu.

WAP

If you have a WAP enabled device (e.g. mobile phone) you can keep up to date with the mobile safety camera schedule by navigating to http://www.cumbriasafetycameras.org/wap/
